A Pakistani passport holder needs a short-stay Schengen visa (type C) to visit Lithuania. Lithuania has no visa authority in Pakistan. Its embassy websites state that residents of Pakistan apply for a Lithuanian visa at the Embassy of Hungary in Islamabad, and Hungary lists Pakistan among the countries where it represents Lithuania. The Hungarian Embassy accepts these applications only from Pakistani citizens and from foreigners staying in Pakistan legally. Lithuania must be the sole or main destination, or the first Schengen entry point. A long-stay national visa is not handled by Hungary and must be requested from a Lithuanian embassy.

Lithuania, home to Vilnius’s baroque old town and the dunes of the Curonian Spit, sits inside the Schengen area, which means a Pakistani citizen travels there on a short-stay type C Schengen visa. There is no Lithuanian visa office in Pakistan, and the country’s embassy websites send residents of Pakistan to the Embassy of Hungary in Islamabad.

Hungary formally represents Lithuania for visas in Pakistan, alongside a handful of other countries such as Indonesia, Iran and South Africa. The Hungarian mission takes applications only from Pakistani citizens and from foreigners legally staying in Pakistan, and Lithuania advises contacting it ahead of time about the papers it expects for a Lithuanian itinerary. Appointments are made through Gerry’s Visa, the VFS Global partner the Embassy names.

You qualify for this route when Lithuania is the only or main stop, judged by days or purpose; if neither stands out, the first external Schengen border you cross decides. Each traveller fills in a separate form in Lithuanian or English and signs it. The passport must be under ten years old, have two blank pages and stay valid for three months after you leave the Schengen area.

The Schengen fee is 90 euros, but Islamabad collects it in rupees. The Hungarian table effective 1 August 2026 shows PKR 27,982 for an adult and PKR 14,942 for a child aged 6 to 12, payable in cash on the day you submit. A photograph and ten fingerprints are taken, and prints given within the last 59 months can be reused.

Time the application carefully. It can go in up to six months ahead and should normally be lodged at least 15 calendar days before departure. The decision should come within 15 calendar days, though individual cases can take up to 45. Anyone planning to study or work long term in Lithuania needs a national D visa from a Lithuanian embassy instead.
