This guide explains the Turkey visit visa for Pakistan passport holders. Most Pakistani visitors can take one of two official routes. The first is the online e-Visa, open only to travellers who already hold certain Western visas or residence permits. The second is the sticker visa, applied for through Türkiye's missions in Pakistan. Below we cover who qualifies for each route, the documents Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) asks for, how to apply safely, and where to check the fee before you pay.
Do Pakistani citizens need a visa for Türkiye?
Yes, if you hold an ordinary (green) passport. The MFA's visa information for foreigners page states that Pakistani ordinary passport holders must have a visa to enter Türkiye. Official passport holders are exempt for visits of up to 90 days.
Ordinary passport holders who already hold a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit may get a one-month, single-entry e-Visa online at www.evisa.gov.tr. Everyone else applies for a sticker visa.
Information only. We are not a government office or visa agency and do not process applications. Rules change, so re-check the official pages linked here before you travel.
Route 1: the conditional e-Visa
Who qualifies
You qualify if you have a Pakistani ordinary passport and a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland. The MFA says the e-Visa is valid only for tourism or commerce. For other purposes, such as work or study, you must apply to a Turkish embassy or consulate.
An e-Visa information note (written by the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi and reposted on the Islamabad embassy's website) explains how Turkish missions treat the supporting document:
- The supporting visa or permit must be valid on the date you enter Türkiye. Used and unused visas both count if their validity covers your entry date.
- Another country's e-Visa does not count as a supporting document.
- The e-Visa website does not check your supporting document. Airlines and Turkish immigration do. If it does not meet the conditions, the airline can refuse to board you.
- Carry the original supporting visa or permit when you travel. If it is in an old passport, carry the old passport as well.
- Eligible e-Visa applicants do not give biometrics.
How to apply for the e-Visa
- Go to the official portal, www.evisa.gov.tr. Type the address yourself rather than clicking an advert.
- Click Apply, then select Pakistan and your passport type.
- Click Save & Continue to see the fee for your passport. Click it again to see the conditions that apply to you.
- Enter your identity, passport and travel details. Answer the supporting-document questions truthfully, because they are checked at the airport.
- Pay online and download your e-Visa. Keep a printed or offline copy with your passport and supporting visa.
The same note warns about fake e-Visa websites. These sites buy the visa from the official portal and charge more. If you used another site by mistake, check your e-Visa at evisa.gov.tr/en/status. It also says the e-Visa is outside Turkish missions' responsibility. Send questions through the portal's FAQ and enquiry form rather than to an embassy.
Route 2: the sticker visa through a Turkish mission
If you do not hold a qualifying Western visa or permit, apply for a sticker visa. The MFA's general information about Turkish visas says applicants start online in the Pre-Application System for Turkish Sticker Visa at www.visa.gov.tr. If you turn out to be eligible, the system sends you to the e-Visa instead.
In Pakistan, Türkiye has an Embassy in Islamabad and Consulates General in Karachi and Lahore. On 20 February 2026 the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad announced that visa applications are received exclusively through Anatolia Travel Services offices. Book and lodge through that provider, and check its office list for the centre that serves your city.
Key MFA rules for sticker visas
- Apply early. The MFA advises applying at least one month before your trip.
- Fees are not refunded if the visa is refused.
- Length of stay. Short-stay visits are limited to 90 days in any 180-day period.
- Passport validity. Under Türkiye's Law on Foreigners and International Protection, your passport must be valid for at least 60 days beyond your visa or permitted stay. For example, a 30-day stay needs 90 days of validity. The MFA also advises a passport valid for six months from your arrival date, so aim for that.
- Health insurance. All applicants need medical insurance that covers their stay in Türkiye.
- Minors. Applicants under 18 need official written approval from both parents.
Documents to prepare
The list depends on your route. For a sticker visa, the provider's and mission's checklist for your purpose of travel is the final word.
| Document | e-Visa | Sticker visa |
|---|---|---|
| Pakistani passport with enough validity | Yes | Yes |
| Valid Schengen / USA / UK / Ireland visa or residence permit (original) | Yes, it is the basis of eligibility | Not required, but show it if you have one |
| Online application | On evisa.gov.tr | Pre-application at visa.gov.tr, then the file at Anatolia Travel Services |
| Medical insurance covering the stay | Check the conditions shown during your application | Yes, per the MFA |
| Travel plan and accommodation | Carry proof for immigration | Per the mission checklist |
| Proof of funds or regular income | Carry proof for immigration | Yes, per the MFA and the mission checklist |
| Invitation letter (if visiting a host) | Not applicable | Yes, with the details the MFA lists (below) |
| Parents' written approval for under-18s | Carry it | Yes |
Invitation letters
If a person or company in Türkiye invites you, the MFA says the letter should include:
- the host's Turkish ID number and identity details
- the host's address and contact number
- the names of the people invited
- the length and purpose of the stay
- your relationship to the host
- a pledge to cover your expenses, if the host is doing so
A company host should also provide its tax registration certificate.
Fees and processing time
Your fee is shown during the official application: on evisa.gov.tr for the e-Visa, and on the provider's official fee list for a sticker visa. The MFA and the e-Visa portal do not publish a Pakistan-specific processing time or approval rate on the pages linked here. Plan with the MFA's one-month advance-application advice.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using a supporting visa that expires before your entry date, or relying on another country's e-Visa.
- Applying through a lookalike site instead of evisa.gov.tr.
- Using the e-Visa for work, study or other purposes it does not cover.
- Booking non-refundable travel before your sticker visa is issued.
- Forgetting the 60-day passport validity rule for longer stays.

FAQ
Does a Pakistan passport need a Turkey visit visa?
Yes, for ordinary passports. Official passport holders are visa-exempt for up to 90 days, according to the MFA.
Can Pakistanis get a Turkey e-Visa?
Yes, if you hold a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit. With one of these, you can get a one-month, single-entry e-Visa on evisa.gov.tr. Otherwise you need a sticker visa.
How much is the Turkey e-Visa for Pakistan?
The fee for your passport is shown during the official e-Visa application on evisa.gov.tr. Check it there before you pay and ignore unofficial figures.
Where do I apply for a Turkish sticker visa in Pakistan?
Start at the Pre-Application System (visa.gov.tr). The Turkish Embassy in Islamabad says applications are received only through Anatolia Travel Services offices.
How early should I apply for a Turkey visa?
The MFA advises applying at least one month before travel. For the e-Visa, follow the official FAQ on evisa.gov.tr and ignore unofficial "instant" claims.
