Anyone searching for a Greece visit visa for Pakistan in 2026 needs to know about one big change: since 15 June 2026 the Embassy of Greece in Islamabad no longer books ordinary visa appointments itself. Bookings now run through Global Visa Center World (GVCW), and files are handed in at two GVCW centres, one in Islamabad and one in Lahore. The Greek consular office in Islamabad still examines every file and makes the decision. Below you will find the new booking route, the paperwork Greek consular staff expect from Pakistani applicants, the official fee and decision times, and links to the official pages.
Greece at a glance for Pakistani passport holders
| Item | What applies |
|---|---|
| Visa needed | Yes: a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) for tourism, family visits or business up to 90 days in any 180 |
| Who decides | Embassy of Greece, Consular Office, Islamabad (33A School Road, F-6/2) |
| Who books and collects files | GVCW, the external service provider named by the embassy |
| Where you submit | GVCW Visa Application Centres in Islamabad and Lahore |
| Visa fee | €90 for adults. The EU rate for children aged 6–12 is €45, but GVCW's Greece fee table lists children under 12 as free, so confirm the amount when you book. A GVCW service fee is added, paid in PKR. |
| Decision time | Normally up to 15 days, extendable to 45 days |
Greece is the right mission only if it is your main destination, meaning the country where you will spend the most nights. If your nights are split evenly between several Schengen States, you apply to the country you enter first. Island-hopping in Greece with a short stopover in Rome still counts as a Greece application.

What changed in June 2026
On 12 June 2026 the embassy announced that, from 15 June 2026, all visa appointments (work visas included) must be booked online on the GVCW platform at pk-gr.gvcworld.eu. Files are now taken at VACs in Islamabad and Lahore. The embassy also said it will not accept urgent appointment requests, or bookings made any other way.
Some older pages on the embassy's visa section still describe the previous system. They mention a separate scheduling website, booking by email and a Schengen fee of €80. The June 2026 announcement replaces the old booking instructions. The current adult fee is €90, as published by the European Commission and repeated on GVCW's own FAQ. If you find two different versions, follow the announcement and GVCW.
Step by step: applying through GVCW
1. Pick the correct travel purpose
GVCW publishes separate checklists for tourism, business, visiting family or friends, cultural reasons, sports, medical reasons, official trips, study, airport transit and seafarers. The centre says clearly that its staff cannot advise you on which category to choose, so decide your main purpose before you start. A person visiting a cousin in Athens and then touring Santorini should normally use the visiting family or friends list.
2. Complete the online application form
Create a GVCW account and fill in the Schengen form online. Print it and bring it to your appointment. GVCW also asks applicants to print and hand in the Data Protection Information sheet with the file. If you cannot manage the form yourself, GVCW offers a paid form-filling service at the centre. You do not have to use it.
3. Book the appointment (free)
Log in, choose the VAC that matches your residence address, and pick a slot. GVCW's news page says booking is free of charge and can be done only through its platform. Anyone who charges you for a "Greek appointment" is not part of the official process. Print your appointment letter.
Check the submission days and hours for your centre on GVCW's location page before you book. Centres close on Pakistani public holidays.
- Islamabad VAC: Gerry's Building, next to Punjab Cash & Carry, Park Road, Chattha Bakhtawar, Chak Shahzad
- Lahore VAC: Ground Floor, MCT Madina Corporate Tower, 8 Queens Road
The embassy announcement names only these two centres. If you live in Sindh or Balochistan, check GVCW's location page to confirm where you should apply before you travel to a centre. You may apply on the basis of your permanent address, or a temporary address supported by official registration.
4. Attend in person for biometrics
Every Schengen applicant must attend in person so the centre can take ten fingerprints and a digital photo. GVCW says this applies to applicants of all ages. Under EU rules, fingerprints already stored in the Visa Information System from an application in the last 59 months can be reused. GVCW's tourism page says the visa fee and the GVCW service fee are paid in Pakistani rupees only. A note under its fee table also says visa fees must be paid directly to the Embassy, so follow the payment instructions in your appointment letter.
5. Track and collect
GVCW sends the file to the consular office in Islamabad. You can follow progress in the online tracking tool, using the application ID on your payment receipt and your passport number. Passports are returned at the same VAC; GVCW links its passport collection times from its tourism page. GVCW also sells courier delivery if you prefer.
Diplomatic, service and official passport holders apply directly at the embassy's visa section, not at GVCW.
Paperwork the Greek consulate expects
GVCW's checklists follow the common EU list of supporting documents for short-stay applicants in Pakistan. The Greek embassy adds some details of its own. The points below are where Greek files most often differ from a standard Schengen file:
- Photos: two recent colour photos, 3.5 × 4 cm, facing forward on a white background.
- Passport: issued within the last ten years, with at least two blank pages and at least three months' validity after you return. Bring a copy of the data page, copies of every visa page, and any old passports.
- Family record: a NADRA Family Registration Certificate. The embassy's own page asks for it to be attested by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Marital status: if married, copies of the Nikah Nama with an English translation.
- Finances: the embassy's requirements page asks for bank statements covering the last six months plus the previous year. The EU list for Pakistan also mentions an NTN certificate and FBR acknowledgements of tax returns for the last two fiscal years.
- Private stay: if a friend or relative in Greece is hosting you, their invitation letter must have the signature certified by a Greek authority, such as a KEP citizens' service centre or the police.
- Format: A4 paper only, with a separate set of documents for each traveller, including children.
For the complete EU core list, use our Schengen visa documents checklist for Pakistan. This page covers only the points that are specific to Greece.
Travel medical insurance for Greece
You need Schengen travel medical insurance with at least €30,000 of cover for emergency medical care, hospital treatment and repatriation (including in case of death). It must be valid in every Schengen State for the whole visa period. The Greek embassy publishes a list of Pakistani insurance companies that can issue this cover, including EFU General, Askari General, TPL Direct, UBL Insurers and several others. GVCW says you may buy from any insurer, provided the policy meets the Schengen standard. Our Schengen travel insurance guide explains what the policy wording must say.
Fees
- Schengen visa fee: €90 for adults. The EU rate for children aged 6–12 is €45, but GVCW's Greece fee table lists children under 12 as free, so confirm the amount when you book. Sources: European Commission and GVCW's Greece tourism page.
- GVCW service fee: added on top of the visa fee and paid in PKR. GVCW currently lists it as €30 per application, payable in PKR at the daily exchange rate. Check it when you book.
- Optional GVCW services such as courier, SMS updates, premium lounge and form filling cost extra. None of them changes the consulate's decision.
How long it takes
GVCW's tourism page says applications may take up to 15 days. The period can be extended to 45 calendar days when other Schengen countries need to be consulted. GVCW asks for files at least 15 calendar days before departure (one section of the same page still says 30 days), so book as early as you can. You can apply up to six months ahead. These figures match the European Commission's rules. Time spent waiting for an appointment slot is extra, so plan for it.

FAQ
Can I still book a Greek visa appointment through the embassy?
No. Since 15 June 2026, ordinary visa appointments are booked only on the GVCW platform. The embassy does not accept urgent requests or bookings made any other way. Diplomatic and official passport holders are the exception.
Where are the Greek visa centres in Pakistan?
GVCW runs Visa Application Centres in Islamabad (Park Road, Chak Shahzad) and Lahore (MCT Madina Corporate Tower, Queens Road). Check submission days and hours on GVCW's location page before you book.
How much is the Greece Schengen visa fee for Pakistanis?
€90 for adults. The EU rate for children aged 6–12 is €45, but GVCW's Greece fee table lists children under 12 as free, so confirm the amount when you book. GVCW adds a service fee of €30 per application, paid in rupees.
Does the invitation letter need attestation?
Yes, if you will stay with a host in Greece. The embassy asks for the host's signature to be certified by a competent Greek authority such as a KEP office or the police.
How long does a Greece visa take from Pakistan?
Usually up to 15 days after lodging, and up to 45 days if the file needs consultation with other Schengen countries. Waiting for an appointment slot comes on top of that.
Does VisitVisaInfo book Greek appointments?
No. Only the GVCW platform books appointments, and only the Greek consular office decides visas.
