This Thailand tourist visa for Pakistan guide explains how Pakistani passport holders apply for a Thai Tourist Visa through the official e-Visa system. It covers each step on the portal, the documents to upload, how the fee is paid, the processing time the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad publishes, the fraud warnings it stresses, and what to do after approval, including the Thailand Digital Arrival Card. It draws on the Embassy's e-Visa FAQ for Pakistan (March 2025), the official Thai e-Visa portal, and the Thai Immigration Bureau.
Visa status and type
Pakistani passport holders apply for a Thai visa before travel through the e-Visa system at thaievisa.go.th. The Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad says the system has been in effect in Pakistan since 1 January 2025, and applicants no longer need to visit the Embassy in person to apply. The e-Visa system offers Tourist, Transit, Non-Immigrant, and Diplomatic/Official visas. For a holiday, choose the Tourist Visa category.
General information only, not legal or visa advice. VisitVisaInfo does not issue visas or lodge applications. Confirm the current instructions for your residence and travel purpose on the official Thai portals.
Which mission handles your application
The Embassy says your application must go to the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi, depending on where you currently are. You must be physically present in Pakistan for the whole application process and upload proof of your current location. The Embassy's examples are a rental agreement, utility bills, or Pakistan immigration stamps. Applications without valid proof are rejected.

Step by step on thaievisa.go.th
The Embassy's FAQ sets out these steps:
- Create an account at thaievisa.go.th. A verification link is sent to your email. One account can be used for you and your family members (up to 10 applications at a time) and for future applications.
- Fill in the application form and choose the Tourist Visa category.
- Upload your documents:
- the biodata page of your passport
- a recent passport-size photo, taken within the last 6 months, in JPG/JPEG format, maximum 3 MB
- the supporting documents the portal requests for your category, plus your proof of location
- Pay the visa fee offline (see below).
- Track your status by logging in to your account.
- Receive the e-Visa by email when it is approved.
The portal shows the exact supporting documents for the Tourist category on the day you apply. Upload what it asks for, not a checklist copied from another country.
Documents by traveller situation
- Renting in Pakistan — What to upload or check: Rental agreement as proof of location
- Living in your own or family home — What to upload or check: Utility bill as proof of location
- Recently returned from abroad — What to upload or check: Pakistan immigration stamp as proof of location
- Applying for family members — What to upload or check: Use one account for up to 10 applications; each applicant needs their own passport page, photo, and documents
- Using a travel agent — What to upload or check: Allowed as a representative, but the Embassy is not responsible for incomplete applications they submit
The Embassy specifically says airline tickets and hotel bookings must be genuine.
Fees and processing time
Fee payment: For applications handled by the Islamabad Embassy, the fee is paid offline in cash at the Embassy's visa gate. Bring your application confirmation. For applications handled in Karachi, the Embassy says to check the Consulate-General's website for payment options. The Embassy says visa fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including if you withdraw your application.
This article does not quote a rupee or baht amount. Check the current fee on the Embassy's visa fees page and in your e-Visa application before paying.
Processing time: The Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad says the estimated processing time is approximately 14 working days after the visa fee has been received and acknowledged. The count starts once the fee is acknowledged, not when you submit the form, so pay promptly and apply well before your flight.
Thai authorities do not publish an approval or refusal rate for Pakistani applicants.
Common mistakes the Embassy warns about
- Fake tickets or hotel bookings. If any document is found to be fake, the application is rejected immediately. The applicant, their travel agent, or both may be blacklisted.
- Applying from outside Pakistan, or without proof of location. Your application will be rejected.
- Paying "fixers". The Embassy says anyone can apply on their own. Do not pay extra money to anyone claiming connections. Report such requests to the Embassy through consular.isb.go.th.
- Showing the visa on your phone. Mobile or electronic copies are not accepted.
- Expecting a refund. Fees are non-refundable, including if you withdraw.
For e-Visa questions, the Embassy's contact is thaievisa@mfa.go.th.
After approval: print the e-Visa and complete the TDAC
- Print your e-Visa. You must show the printed copy at flight check-in and to Thai immigration officers on arrival.
- Complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at tdac.immigration.go.th. Thai Immigration says that since 1 May 2025, all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must complete it online. Submit it within 3 days before arrival (including your arrival date). You will need your passport, travel, and accommodation details, a health declaration, and an email address. A confirmation is sent by email.
- Double-check your TDAC details. Your name, passport number, nationality, and date of birth cannot be edited later. A mistake in these means a new submission.
- The TDAC is not a visa. You still need your printed e-Visa.
- Stay within your permitted period. Check the validity and conditions printed on your e-Visa and follow Thai Immigration Bureau rules during your stay.
