Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists Pakistan as a visa country: holders of ordinary Pakistani passports need a visa, while diplomatic and official passport holders can stay up to 30 days without one. A short-stay visa C covers tourism, business and other trips of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, for one, two or more entries. You can apply in person at a Serbian embassy or consulate, or online through welcometoserbia.gov.rs with a registered eid.gov.rs account. There is one important exception: a Pakistani holding a valid Schengen, UK, EU Member State or US visa, or a residence permit of the Schengen area, the EU or the US, may enter and stay up to 90 days in six months without a Serbian visa, within the validity of that visa or permit.

Serbia asks for a visa from most Pakistani travellers, but the route is wider than a single embassy queue. The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists Pakistan as a country whose ordinary passport holders need a visa, and it offers both in-person and online ways to apply. A separate rule lets some Pakistanis enter with no Serbian visa at all.

That rule comes from a government decision of 30 October 2014. Holders of national passports with a valid Schengen, UK, EU Member State or US visa, or a residence permit of the Schengen area, the EU or the US, may enter, transit and stay in Serbia for up to 90 days in a six-month period. The stay must fall within the validity of that visa or permit. Diplomatic and official Pakistani passports are exempt for 30 days.

Everyone else applies for a short-stay visa C, which covers tourism, business and other trips of up to 90 days in any 180 days. Applications go in person to a Serbian embassy or consulate, or online on welcometoserbia.gov.rs from a registered eid.gov.rs account. Since April 2025 Serbia has also issued some visas as electronic Digital Travel Authorizations, but only where the service is enabled for a nationality.

The Ministry’s checklist starts with a completed form and a passport valid for at least 90 days after departure, with two blank pages, issued within the last 10 years. Add a 3.5 x 4.5 cm photo, the visa fee, proof of purpose such as a certified invitation, a company letter or a tour voucher, travel medical insurance, and evidence of accommodation and funds. No fee amount is stated, so confirm it with the mission.

At the border you may be asked to show 50 euros for each day of your stay, and health insurance of at least 20,000 euros is recommended. You must register your stay and address with the authorities within 24 hours of arrival, and hotels or hosts who provide accommodation must also register you within 24 hours. Serbia publishes no approval or refusal rate, so give yourself time and keep copies of everything you submit.

Quick answers

FAQ

Do Pakistanis need a visa for Serbia?

Yes, for ordinary passports. Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that holders of ordinary Pakistani passports and other travel documents need a visa. Diplomatic and official passport holders are exempt for visits of up to 30 days.

Can I enter Serbia with a Schengen, UK or US visa?

Yes, under a 2014 Serbian government decision. Holders of national passports with a valid Schengen, UK, EU Member State or US visa, or a residence permit of the Schengen area, the EU or the US, may enter, transit and stay up to 90 days in a six-month period without applying for a Serbian visa, within the validity of that visa or permit. Emergency travel documents do not qualify.

Can I apply for a Serbian visa online?

Yes. Applications can be submitted online through the Welcome to Serbia portal, welcometoserbia.gov.rs, but only from a registered account on the Electronic Identification Portal, eid.gov.rs. You can also apply in person at a Serbian embassy or consulate.

What is a Serbian Digital Travel Authorization?

Since 23 April 2025 Serbia has issued some visas in electronic form, called Digital Travel Authorizations, with QR codes for checking validity. They go only to nationals of countries for which the service is enabled on welcometoserbia.gov.rs and who meet the low-risk, reciprocity and security conditions. Otherwise a visa sticker is placed in the passport.

How long can I stay in Serbia on a short-stay visa?

A short-stay visa C allows entry, transit or stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period from the first entry. It is issued for tourist, business and other trips and can allow one, two or more entries.

What documents do I need for a Serbian visa?

The Ministry lists a completed form, a passport valid 90 days beyond departure with two blank pages and issued within 10 years, a 3.5 x 4.5 cm photo, the visa fee, proof of purpose such as an invitation or tour voucher, and valid travel medical insurance, plus proof of accommodation and funds.

How much does a Serbian visa cost for Pakistanis?

Check the current fee with the Serbian embassy or consulate where you apply. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs includes the visa fee in its list of requirements without giving an amount.

How much money do I need to show at the Serbian border?

The Ministry’s general entry rules treat 50 euros per day of stay as sufficient funds, shown by cash or a bank statement. Entry can be refused to a foreigner who lacks a valid passport, a required visa or enough funds.

Do I need to register my stay in Serbia?

Yes. A foreign national must register their stay and any change of address with the relevant authority within 24 hours of arriving. Hotels and hosts providing accommodation also register guests within 24 hours.

Is there an official visa approval rate for Pakistanis?

No. Serbia does not publish an approval or refusal rate for Pakistani applicants, so it is not officially published.
