Pakistani ordinary passport holders need a visa for Albania, and the whole process starts online at e-visa.al. You can choose an electronic visa that arrives by email or a sticker visa collected at an Albanian embassy. Albania's Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs also lets you enter without an Albanian visa if you hold a valid multiple-entry Schengen, EU, US or UK visa that you have already used in the issuing country, a residence permit from one of those places, or a 10-year UAE residence permit with at least one year left. If you use a Schengen, EU, US or UK visa or permit, leave Albania at least three days before it expires.
Albania has become one of the most talked-about value destinations in Europe, with the Riviera beaches around Ksamil, the Ottoman-era towns of Berat and Gjirokastër, and lively Tirana. Albania is not in the Schengen area, and it runs its own visa rules. The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs lists Pakistan among the countries whose ordinary passport holders need a visa, so most Pakistani travellers must apply before they fly.
There is good news for frequent travellers. The Ministry's visa rules say you can enter Albania without an Albanian visa if you hold a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa you have already used in the Schengen area, or a valid multiple-entry visa or residence permit from an EU country, the United States or the United Kingdom that you have already used in that country. A Schengen residence permit also works, as does a 10-year UAE residence permit with at least one year of validity left. You must leave Albania no later than three days before that visa or permit expires.
Everyone else applies online at e-visa.al, the government's visa system. You pick an electronic visa, which is emailed to you, or a sticker visa that you collect at an Albanian mission. The short-stay type C visa allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period from your first entry. You must apply from outside Albania and no more than 90 days before your trip. After the consul checks your file, you receive a payment request in euros. The portal says assessment usually takes 15 working days after payment and can take up to 30 working days, and unpaid applications are refused automatically after 15 days.
Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the visa you are asking for and have at least two blank pages. Upload a photo that meets the 47 x 36 mm guideline, a return flight booking, proof of accommodation, an invitation if you have a host, and proof of funds such as bank statements. The Ministry gives an indicative amount of ALL 5,000 per day for adults and ALL 2,500 per day for children. Documents must be translated into Albanian or English and uploaded as PDFs.
Albania does not publish an official approval or refusal rate for Pakistani applicants. The visa fee is not refunded if your application is refused, and a visa does not guarantee entry at the border. If you are refused, you can appeal within five working days by emailing visa@mfa.gov.al, or reapply after three months, and you must declare the refusal in future applications. While your application is under review, do not contact the institutions yourself unless they contact you first.

Quick answers
FAQ
Do Pakistanis need a visa for Albania?
Yes. Albania's Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs lists Pakistan as needing a visa for ordinary passports. The only exceptions are travellers who hold one of the Schengen, EU, US, UK or UAE visas or residence permits that Albania accepts for visa-free entry.
Can I visit Albania with my Schengen, UK or US visa?
Yes, if it is a valid multiple-entry visa that you have already used in the issuing country, or a valid residence permit from a Schengen country, an EU member state, the US or the UK. You must leave Albania no later than three days before that visa or permit expires.
Does a UAE residence visa let me enter Albania?
Only a 10-year UAE residence permit counts, and it must have at least one year of validity left on the day you enter Albania. A shorter UAE residence visa does not qualify, so apply for an Albanian visa instead.
How do I apply for an Albanian visa from Pakistan?
Apply online at e-visa.al. Choose either an electronic visa sent by email or a sticker visa collected at an Albanian embassy. Apply from outside Albania and no more than 90 days before you plan to travel.
How much is the Albania visa fee for Pakistanis?
The e-Visa portal says fees follow Council of Ministers Decision No. 329 of 29 May 2024, and the exact amount in euros is sent to you after your application passes the first check. Children aged 6–12 pay half and children under 6 are exempt. The fee is not refunded if your visa is refused.
How long does an Albanian visa take?
The official portal says assessment usually takes 15 working days after you pay, and up to 30 working days in exceptional cases. You have 15 days to pay after the payment request, or the application is refused automatically.
How long can I stay in Albania on a visa?
A type C short-stay visa allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period, counted from your first entry. It can be issued for one, two or multiple entries, with a validity of up to five years.
How much money do I need to show for Albania?
The Ministry gives an indicative amount of ALL 5,000 per day for adults and ALL 2,500 per day for children. Border officers may also ask for your return ticket, accommodation proof and any invitation from your host.
What can I do if my Albanian visa is refused?
You can appeal within five working days of the decision by emailing visa@mfa.gov.al with your application code, your reasons and supporting evidence. Otherwise you can reapply after three months, and you must declare the earlier refusal.
