Pakistani passport holders cannot get a Kuwait tourist e-visa or a visa on arrival. On the Ministry of Interior’s official visa portal, kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw, Pakistan is not offered in the Tourist or Business nationality lists, and it is not among the visa-on-arrival nationalities in the portal’s FAQ. Pakistan does appear in the Family and Government lists. The main official route for a private visit is therefore a family visit visa, which the Ministry says usually requires a family member residing in Kuwait to submit the request. The entry permit is valid for 30 days from issue and allows a single stay of up to 90 days. Check the current fee on kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw when you apply.

Without a relative living in Kuwait, Pakistani passport holders currently have no visit visa route: Kuwait's official visa portal does not offer them a tourist or business e-visa, and they are not on its visa-on-arrival list. A visit has to be arranged before travel, and for a private trip the official route is a family visit visa requested by a relative who lives in Kuwait.

The Ministry of Interior runs all of this through one portal, kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw. Its nationality dropdowns tell the story: Pakistan is missing from the Tourist and Business lists but appears in the Family and Government lists. The portal’s FAQ on visa on arrival also leaves Pakistan out, so arriving at the airport without a visa is not an option.

According to the Ministry, a family visit visa usually requires a family member residing in Kuwait to submit a request to visit their family members. In practice your relative in Kuwait files the application, and the portal shows the requirements for your nationality as it goes. Once issued, the entry permit is valid for 30 days, and you may stay up to 90 days from entry on a single entry.

Have the basics ready for your relative: a passport valid for at least six months, a recent passport-size photo on a white background, a confirmed return ticket and proof of where you will stay. The Ministry says requirements vary by nationality, and fees vary too, appearing only during the online application. Fees are collected only if the application is accepted and are not refunded.

Kuwait publishes no approval rate for Pakistani applicants and no processing time for family visits; the 1 to 2 business days it quotes are for tourist visas. Respect the dates on your permit, because the visa terms set an overstay fine of 10 KWD per day. If you live in a GCC country, your residence must be valid for at least six months where it applies.

Quick answers

FAQ

Do Pakistanis need a visa for Kuwait?

Yes. Pakistani passport holders need a visa arranged before travel. Kuwait’s tourist e-visa and visa on arrival are not available to them, so the usual route for a private visit is a family visit visa.

Can Pakistanis apply for the Kuwait tourist e-visa?

No. On the Ministry of Interior’s visa portal, Pakistan is not in the nationality list for Tourist or Business visas.

Can Pakistanis get a visa on arrival in Kuwait?

No. Pakistan is not among the nationalities eligible for visa on arrival in the portal’s FAQ. Do not travel without a visa issued beforehand.

How does the Kuwait family visit visa work?

The Ministry of Interior says a family visit visa usually requires a family member residing in Kuwait to submit a request to visit their family members. Your relative starts the application, not you, and Pakistan is listed in the Family nationality options.

How long can I stay on a Kuwait visit visa?

For family and tourism visit visas, the entry permit is valid for 30 days from the date of issue, and you can stay no more than 90 days from entry, on a single entry.

How much does the Kuwait visit visa cost?

Fees vary by visa type and nationality and are shown during the online application. Check the current fee on kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw when you apply. The fee is only collected if the application is accepted, and it is not refundable.

What documents are usually needed?

A passport valid for at least 6 months, a recent passport-size photo with a white background, a confirmed round-trip ticket and a hotel booking or other proof of accommodation. The Ministry notes that requirements vary by nationality.

How long does processing take?

The Ministry says processing times vary. Its quoted 1 to 2 business days is for tourist visas, which Pakistanis cannot use, so allow extra time for a family visit request.

What happens if I overstay?

Kuwait’s visa terms set an overstay fine of 10 KWD for each day beyond your permitted stay.

I live in a GCC country. Does that change anything?

The portal’s terms say that if GCC residence applies to your application, it must be valid for at least 6 months. The portal does not set out a separate rule for Pakistani GCC residents, so follow whatever the application shows for your case.
