Kuwait has a large Pakistani community, so most visits from Pakistan are to see relatives, attend family events or meet business contacts. Kuwait's Ministry of Interior, the MOI, sets the rules, and official English pages can be brief. For a Pakistani passport, treat Kuwait as a destination that needs prior authorisation, either through an electronic visa if MOI offers one for your nationality or through a sponsor in Kuwait.

The first route to check is the MOI's electronic visa service at kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw. Select Pakistan as your nationality and see whether a tourist or visit eVisa product appears. If it does, you complete the form, upload your passport and photo, add ticket and hotel evidence as requested, and pay the fee shown at checkout. If it does not, stop there: do not upload another nationality's details or pay a broker who promises a product the portal does not show. Nationality lists change, so run the check each time you plan a trip.

The second route, used for many Pakistani visits, is a sponsored visit. Family visit services are described on Kuwait Government Online, and the sponsor in Kuwait, whether a relative, host or company, normally starts the request through MOI systems. The sponsor prepares their Civil ID, employment and salary evidence, proof of kinship and any undertaking forms MOI publishes, while the visitor supplies passport scans and photos. After approval, the visitor may need biometrics or other steps as instructed. Hotel or airline packages sometimes wrap a visit authorisation; make sure the permit underneath is a genuine MOI product.

Documents depend on the purpose. A tourist on an eVisa usually needs a passport bio page with enough validity, a photo, a confirmed ticket and a hotel reservation or Kuwait address. A family visitor adds relationship evidence. A business visitor may need an invitation or appointment letter, with the company providing its authorisation or commercial registration. A medical visitor may need hospital appointment evidence. Read the official form for your category rather than relying on a general list.

The biggest mistakes are sending an original passport to an unofficial agent, trusting WhatsApp price lists, and leaving official moi.gov.kw domains for lookalike sites. Validity to enter and permitted stay are printed on the approval, so read it carefully, and travel on the same passport used in the application.
