Kiribati’s Entry and Visa Exemption Order 2023, in force from 1 September 2023, waives visas for the countries on its list, and Pakistan is not on that list. The Kiribati National Tourism Office therefore treats Pakistani passport holders as needing a visa, priced at AUD 40 for single entry or AUD 80 for multiple entry. Visa enquiries go to the Visa Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration.
Kiribati is a nation of 33 atolls spread across the central Pacific, from the lagoons of Tarawa to Kiritimati, famous for fly-fishing and birdlife. Few Pakistanis visit, and those who do need a visa arranged in advance.
The Entry and Visa Exemption Order 2023, which took effect on 1 September 2023, lists the countries whose citizens need no visa. Pakistan is not on it, even though India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives are.
Kiribati’s National Tourism Office sets out the visa fees for nationalities outside the list: AUD 40 per person for a single entry and AUD 80 per person for multiple entries.
Visa matters fall under the Immigration Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, which applies the Immigration Act 2019. The Visa Officer, reached at visaofficer@mfa.gov.ki, tells applicants which supporting documents to send.
Your passport must stay valid for at least six months from the day you leave Kiribati. Work, research and filming each require separate approval, and longer stays need an Extension of Stay application.
