Iceland has no embassy of its own in Pakistan, so the Royal Danish Embassy in Islamabad decides Iceland visas on its behalf. You hand in your papers and give fingerprints at the Gerry's visa centre run with VFS Global for Denmark, in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore. What you receive is an ordinary Schengen type C visa, good for up to 90 days in any 180, and the fee is €90 for adults or €45 for children aged 6 to 12. Choose Iceland as your main destination only if most of your nights will be spent there.
Iceland is a Schengen country even though it is not in the European Union, so Pakistani passport holders need a short-stay type C Schengen visa before flying to Reykjavík. That one sticker covers sightseeing, family visits and short business trips of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Iceland is not the right country to apply to if it is just a short stop on a longer European trip: lodge with Iceland only if you will spend most of your nights there, or if it is the first Schengen country on a trip with equal stays.
Iceland's own embassies issue visas in just four cities: London, New Delhi, Beijing and Washington. In about 120 other cities, the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs has asked other Schengen states to issue visas on its behalf. Iceland's official where-to-apply list names the Royal Danish Embassy in Islamabad, using a VFS Global office, for Pakistan. The Danish embassy's website says the same thing: its Islamabad visa section also handles applications for Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
In practice, you apply in person at one of the Gerry's visa centres that work with VFS Global for Denmark. They are in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, open Monday to Friday, with shorter hours during Ramadan. The Lahore centre moved to 8-A Queen's Road, opposite the CCPO Office, on 29 June 2026. On the VFS Denmark–Pakistan site, open the Iceland / Greenland / Faroe Islands section and check the current document list before you book. Greenland and the Faroe Islands are outside the Schengen area, so tell the centre if they are also part of your trip.
The visa fee is €90 for adults and €45 for children aged 6 to 12, and children under 6 pay nothing. The European Commission and Iceland's own visa page both show these amounts. On top of that, the centre charges its own service fee, which VFS set at EUR 19 from 1 July 2025. Iceland's visa page says a complete file normally takes about two weeks. The Danish embassy is more careful: it says decisions can take up to 45 days once your file is accepted, and that Gerry's appointments get booked up. Booking two to three months before you fly is sensible.
The Danish embassy warns that agents often charge high prices for fake documents, which usually lead to an outright refusal. So prepare your own file. Include real bank statements, an employment or business letter, hotel or host details, and travel insurance worth at least €30,000. The European Commission's 2024 statistics list no Iceland consulate in Pakistan, so there is no official Iceland refusal rate for applicants from Pakistan. If you are refused, the decision letter explains how to appeal.

Quick answers
FAQ
Do Pakistanis need a visa for Iceland?
Yes. Iceland is in the Schengen area, and Pakistan is on the EU list of countries whose citizens need a visa. A short-stay type C Schengen visa covers tourism, family visits and business trips of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Is there an Icelandic embassy in Pakistan?
No. Iceland's own embassies issue visas only in London, New Delhi, Beijing and Washington. For Pakistan, Iceland's official list names the Royal Danish Embassy in Islamabad, which decides Iceland visas on Iceland's behalf.
Where do I submit my Iceland visa application in Pakistan?
In person, at a Gerry's visa centre working with VFS Global for Denmark. There are centres in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. The VFS Denmark–Pakistan site has a separate Iceland / Greenland / Faroe Islands section with the steps to follow.
How much does an Iceland visa cost from Pakistan?
The visa fee is €90 for adults and €45 for children aged 6–12. Children under 6 pay nothing. The VFS Denmark–Pakistan site also lists a service fee of EUR 19 per application from 1 July 2025. Check the current amount and payment method when you book.
How long does an Iceland visa take?
Iceland's visa page says about two weeks for a complete file. The Danish embassy in Islamabad says short-stay decisions can take up to 45 days once your application is accepted, so leave plenty of time before your flight.
Can I visit Greenland or the Faroe Islands on the same trip?
The same Danish embassy desk handles visas for Greenland and the Faroe Islands. They are outside the Schengen area, so a Schengen visa does not automatically cover them. List them in your plans and follow the VFS instructions for those territories.
Will an Iceland visa let me visit other Schengen countries?
Yes. A uniform Schengen visa from Iceland is valid across the Schengen area for the days printed on it. But Iceland must be your main destination. If you plan more nights in another Schengen country, apply to that country instead.
Should I use an agent for my Iceland visa?
The Danish embassy in Islamabad asks applicants not to use agents. It says agents charge high prices for fake documents, which usually lead to a refusal. Apply through the official Gerry's/VFS centre yourself and use only real documents.
Is there an official Iceland visa refusal rate for Pakistan?
No. The European Commission's 2024 consulate statistics list no Iceland consulate in Pakistan, because Denmark handles Iceland's visas there. So there is no official Iceland refusal figure for applicants from Pakistan.
