Pakistani citizens normally need a Cyprus short-stay visa (category C) for visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Cyprus is in the EU but not yet a full Schengen member, so a Cyprus visa is valid only for the Republic of Cyprus. Holders of a valid two- or multiple-entry Schengen visa, or a Schengen national visa or residence permit, do not need a Cyprus visa for up to 90 days (Turkish and Azerbaijani citizens excepted). The short-stay fee is €90 for adults (€45 ages 6–12). Pakistan has no resident Cyprus mission; applications are covered by the Embassy of Cyprus in Iran, with honorary consulates listed in Karachi and Islamabad.
Cyprus runs its own short-stay visa system. It is an EU member but has not fully joined the Schengen area yet, so a visa issued by Cyprus is valid only for the Republic of Cyprus and does not by itself let you travel around Schengen. Pakistani passport holders normally need a category C visa for tourism, family visits or short unpaid stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
There is a useful exception. Gov.cy states that holders of a valid two- or multiple-entry Schengen visa, or a Schengen national visa or residence permit, do not need a separate Cyprus visa for a stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Turkish and Azerbaijani citizens are excluded from that exception. If you rely on a Schengen visa, carry it with your passport and still meet entry conditions at the Cyprus border.
Fees on the official Gov.cy Visas page match the common short-stay scale: €90 for adults, €45 for children aged 6 to 12, and free under 6. Airport transit visas are also listed at €90. Some students, researchers and young participants in non-profit events may qualify for fee waivers listed on the same page. Visa fees are non-refundable once the application is admissible.
Pakistan has no resident Cyprus diplomatic mission. Gov.cy says Pakistan is covered by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Iran, and it lists honorary consulates in Karachi and Islamabad for local contact. Follow the embassy that will issue your visa for appointments, fingerprints and document lists. Apply between six months and 15 days before travel; decisions usually take about 15 days and can extend to 45 days. Honorary consulates can help with local questions, but the visa decision sits with the competent Cyprus diplomatic mission.
You will typically need a passport valid at least three months after leaving Cyprus with two blank pages, the Cyprus visa form, an ICAO photo, travel medical insurance of at least €30,000, proof of funds, accommodation and return plans, and any host sponsorship form if required. Do not buy tickets until the visa is issued. Cyprus does not publish an official approval or refusal rate for Pakistani applicants.
