Pakistan is not on the Turks and Caicos Islands visa-exempt list, so Pakistani citizens need a TCI visitor visa before arrival. TCI Border Force says nationals of visa-required countries can still enter without a TCI visa if they are lawful residents of the United Kingdom, the United States or Canada, or hold a valid visa for travel to one of those three countries. Applications are made from outside the Islands to the nearest British High Commission, Embassy or Consulate, or to the Director of Immigration in Grand Turk.

The Turks and Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory south-east of the Bahamas, are famous for the long powder-white sweep of Grace Bay on Providenciales, the shallow Chalk Sound, the coral walls off Grand Turk and the quiet cays between. Pakistani visitors usually need a visa to enter.

TCI Border Force publishes a list of visa-exempt nationalities, and Pakistan is not on it. The good news for many travellers is a broad exemption: a lawful resident of the UK, US or Canada, or anyone holding a valid visa for one of those three countries, may enter without a TCI visa.

Without such a document, apply for a TCI visitor's visa before arrival, either through the nearest British High Commission, Embassy or Consulate or directly to the Director of Immigration in Grand Turk. The application relies on a surety in the Islands who writes a covering letter.

The file includes the completed form, two photos certified by a Justice of the Peace, a current police record, a job letter or business licence, an original bank reference letter and a passport valid for six months. The administrative fee is $100, non-refundable, with another $150 due on approval.

Whatever route you use, airlines will ask for your visa or exemption document at check-in, and a Border Force Officer makes the final decision on landing. Children travelling without a parent should carry a signed consent letter.

Quick answers

Yes. TCI Border Force says travellers from visa-required countries who hold a valid visa for the US, UK or Canada can enter without a TCI visa. Make sure the visa is still valid when you travel.

How much is the TCI visa?

A $100 administrative fee, which is non-refundable, plus $150 once the visa is approved.
