Pakistan does not appear on the Marshall Islands Division of Immigration summary of countries entitled to visa exemption, visa waiver or visa on arrival (as of March 2024). Under the official rule, citizens of every country not on those lists must apply for a visa before travelling to the Republic. For a Pakistani tourist that means a Visitors Visa (V-1), applied for from outside the country with a non-refundable US$100 processing fee. A complete application can take up to 14 days, or 21 days if more documents are needed.

The Republic of the Marshall Islands is a chain of 29 coral atolls and five islands in the central Pacific, with Majuro as its capital and some of the world’s best wreck diving at Bikini Atoll. Pakistani travellers need a visa issued before they set off, because Pakistan is not on any of the Republic’s exemption lists.

The Division of Immigration publishes a summary of countries entitled to visa exemption, visa waiver or visa on arrival. Exemption covers the US, Palau, Micronesia, EU members and Taiwan, and visa on arrival covers a long list tied to diplomatic relations and the Pacific Islands Forum. Pakistan appears on neither, so the default rule applies: apply before travelling.

Tourists apply for a Visitors Visa (V-1). The file includes the application form with two photos, a passport valid at least six months, a letter giving the purpose and length of the visit, a police record and a health clearance, both dated within three months, and a receipt for the fee.

The non-refundable processing fee is US$100, while a Business Visa (B-1) for holders of an approved Foreign Investment Business License costs US$300. Applications go to the Director of Immigration in Majuro and take up to 14 days when complete, or 21 days if more paperwork is requested.

At the border you also need a confirmed return or onward ticket and enough money for the stay. A US$20 departure fee is charged when you leave, and visitor stays can be extended through the Director of Immigration for up to 60 more days for US$10.
