Pakistan is not on the Guyana Ministry of Foreign Affairs list of countries whose nationals do not require visas (updated 17 July 2025), so Pakistani citizens need a visa. You can apply at a Guyana embassy or consulate, or, if you cannot reach one, request a visa on arrival from the Ministry of Home Affairs through its eServices portal. The visa is stamped on arrival in Georgetown, but the High Commission of Guyana in New Delhi warns that you will not be able to board without the approval letter.
Guyana, on the north-eastern shoulder of South America, is known for Kaieteur Falls, the Rupununi savannahs, vast rainforest and the colonial wooden buildings of Georgetown. Pakistani passport holders need a visa to visit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes the official list of countries whose nationals do not require visas, last updated in July 2025. It covers CARICOM members, most of Western Europe and a handful of others such as Japan and the UAE. Pakistan is not on it.
You have two routes. Apply at a Guyana embassy or consulate, or, if no mission is within reach, ask the Ministry of Home Affairs for a visa on arrival through its eServices portal. The visa is stamped in Georgetown, but the approval letter must be in hand before you fly.
The ministry’s advisory sets the visitor criteria: two photographs, an invitation letter, your sponsor’s contact details, hotel details for tourists and proof of funds for 30 days. Applications that miss any of these are rejected. The fee is US$25 for the first month.
Visitors can get up to two extensions of one month each, at US$25 per extension. Work, study and business visits follow separate approval steps through the Ministry of Home Affairs, with longer visas once approved.
