Guinea’s border police (Central Directorate of the Border Police, DCPAF) state that every foreign national needs a visa to enter Guinea, except citizens of visa-waiver countries. Pakistan is not in the waiver group on the official e-visa portal, so Pakistani passport holders must apply online before travel. An approved application produces an Entry Visa Letter by email. The visa itself is then issued at the visa-on-arrival counter, where your photo and fingerprints are taken.
Guinea, on West Africa’s Atlantic coast, is the source of the Niger, Senegal and Gambia rivers, with the misty plateaus and waterfalls of the Fouta Djallon and the forests of Mount Nimba near the Liberian border. Pakistani citizens need a visa.
The Central Directorate of the Border Police says every foreign national needs a visa except citizens of visa-waiver countries. Pakistan is not in that group on the official portal, so you apply online through Guinea’s Electronic Travel Authorisation system before travelling.
The standard entry visa costs USD 100 and covers a stay of under 90 days. Turkey, the UK and the US pay higher reciprocity rates, but Pakistani applicants pay the standard amount. Fees are not returned if the visa is refused.
Approval comes as an Entry Visa Letter sent by email. You present it at the visa-on-arrival counter, where the visa is issued and your photo and fingerprints are recorded.
Bring a passport valid over six months, a return ticket, a yellow fever certificate, proof of accommodation and enough money for the trip. Paid work needs a long-stay visa, which costs USD 500 a year.

Fees
Only where a visa or permit is required.
Official fee
US$100
Guinea’s e-visa portal lists a standard fee of USD 100 for an entry (tourist) visa. Higher reciprocity rates apply only to Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States, so Pakistani applicants pay the standard rate. Transit and transshipment visas cost USD 50 and a long-stay visa USD 500 per year. Fees are kept even if the visa is refused.

Quick answers
FAQ
Do Pakistanis need a visa for Guinea?
Yes. All foreign nationals need a visa except citizens of visa-waiver countries, and Pakistan is not one of them. Apply on the official e-visa portal first for an Entry Visa Letter, then collect the visa at the visa-on-arrival counter in Guinea.
Who runs the e-visa?
Guinea’s Ministry of Security and Civil Protection operates the portal, and entry requirements are set by the Central Directorate of the Border Police (DCPAF).
How much is the tourist visa?
USD 100 for a standard entry visa. Only Turkish, British and American citizens pay higher reciprocity fees.
How long can I stay?
The entry visa covers a stay of less than 90 days. Its validity can run up to five years, as stated by the portal.
What do I upload?
A scan of your passport data page. You also need a valid return ticket and a yellow fever certificate as conditions of the visa.
Is a yellow fever certificate required?
Yes. The portal lists it as a condition for tourist, transit and long-stay visas.
What happens after I apply?
You receive an acknowledgement email. If the authority approves the request, an Entry Visa Letter is emailed to you.
Is the visa stamped before I travel?
No. You take the Entry Visa Letter to the visa-on-arrival counter in Guinea, where the visa is issued and your photo and fingerprints are captured.
What must I show at the border?
A passport valid more than six months, the Entry Visa Letter, enough funds for the stay, a return ticket and proof of accommodation.
Is the fee refunded if I am refused?
No. The administration keeps the amount paid, even when a visa is denied.
Does submitting online guarantee a visa?
No. The portal says the online application does not entitle you to a visa; the authority can accept or reject it.
What if I am only changing planes?
A transit visa covers up to three days and costs USD 50. It needs a passport, data page scan, onward ticket and yellow fever certificate.
What is a transshipment visa?
A short visa of up to three days, also USD 50, with the same basic documents as a transit visa.
Can I work on a tourist visa?
No. Work requires the long-stay visa (VLS), which costs USD 500 per year and needs an approved employment contract or similar authorisation.
What does the long-stay visa need?
A passport valid six months, a copy of any previous visa, a return ticket, a yellow fever certificate and a repatriation guarantee such as an approved work contract, study registration or proof of family ties.
Is there a published processing time?
No. Allow extra time between submitting and receiving the Entry Visa Letter.
Is there an official refusal rate for Pakistanis?
No. Guinea does not publish visa refusal figures by nationality.
Can I check my application status?
Yes. The portal has an application status page and lets you edit an application in progress.
Where do I confirm the current fee?
On the official portal, which publishes its fee list and shows the amount for your nationality before payment.
