Summary
- Visa type
- Cuban tourist visa (tourist card) from the Embassy of Cuba in Pakistan
- Stay limit
- 30 days on a single entry, extendable once by 30 days at your hotel desk or with Cuban immigration (Embassy of Cuba in Pakistan)
Pakistani passport holders need a Cuban tourist visa, known as the tourist card, before they fly. You get it from the Embassy of Cuba in Islamabad, either in person or by post. The card is good for one entry and a 30-day stay, and you can extend once by another 30 days at your hotel desk or with Cuban immigration. The embassy's fee schedule in force from 1 October 2026 lists US$30 for a tourist card issued directly to you, with an extra US$30 if you apply by post or through someone else.
Cuba is a long trip from Pakistan, usually with a change of planes in Europe, the Gulf or Turkey, so the paperwork is worth sorting out early. Pakistani passport holders need a visa before they travel. For a holiday, that visa is the Cuban tourist card, a simple single-entry document issued by the Embassy of Cuba in Islamabad. There is no e-visa for Pakistanis, and the tourist card is only for tourism. If you are going for business, journalism, study or to stay with Cuban family, ask the embassy about the right visa instead.
Applying in person is the easiest route. Take your valid passport, the embassy's application form, a flight ticket that shows your arrival and return dates, and the consular fee. The fee can be paid in cash, by bank certificate or by bank transfer. If you live far from Islamabad you can apply by post. Send a clear copy of your passport and ticket, the fee by bank certificate or transfer, and a stamped envelope with your return address. Never post cash, because the embassy sends it back at your risk.
Fees changed on 1 October 2026. The new consular fee schedule, which the Embassy of Cuba in Pakistan published on its website, lists US$30 for a tourist card issued directly to a traveller. The schedule is set in US dollars outside the euro zone, and the embassy may accept the rupee equivalent at its approved rate. Postal applications, or applications handed in by someone else for you, carry an extra US$30 non-personal charge. Confirm the total with the consular section before you pay, as exchange rates and bank charges can change what you hand over.
The card allows one entry and, according to the embassy in Pakistan, a 30-day stay. If you fall in love with Havana or the beaches of Varadero, you can extend once by another 30 days at your hotel desk or with Cuban immigration. Every child needs a separate card, even if they appear in a parent's passport. Medical travel insurance is compulsory for every foreign visitor, and policies from US insurers are not accepted. You can buy a suitable policy before you leave or buy a Cuban one at the airport when you land.
Before you board, fill in D'Viajeros, Cuba's official online form for immigration, health and customs. It must be completed within 48 hours before arrival, once for every passenger, and it emails you a QR code to show the airline and the officers in Cuba. Check your connecting countries too, because a transit stop in Europe or North America may need its own visa for a Pakistani passport. Cuba does not publish an approval or refusal rate for Pakistani applicants, and the embassy does not publish a fixed processing time. Apply a few weeks ahead and keep copies of everything you send.
