Entry to Chad requires a visa, which is now issued online through the official platform evisa.td. Pakistan is not on the platform’s list of visa-exempt countries, so Pakistani passport holders must apply for an e-visa before travel. Since 11 May 2026 every new visa application must be made on evisa.td, except diplomatic and courtesy visas handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Visas issued outside the platform after 21 May 2026 are not valid for entry, and manual entry authorisations have been abolished.
Chad, in the heart of the Sahel, holds the blue and green Lakes of Ounianga in the Sahara, the Ennedi plateau’s sandstone arches and rock art, and Zakouma National Park with its elephant herds. Pakistani travellers need a visa.
Access to Chadian territory depends on holding a visa, and visas are now issued online through evisa.td. Pakistan is not on the platform’s list of visa-exempt countries, so a Pakistani passport needs an e-visa before departure.
Since 11 May 2026 all new applications must be filed on the platform, and visas issued elsewhere after 21 May 2026 are invalid. Fees follow a 2026 joint order and are shown when you pay; payments are not refunded.
The file usually includes a colour passport scan, a photo, flight tickets, accommodation proof, proof of funds and a legalised invitation letter where you have a host. Standard processing takes 10 working days, or 72 hours for express.
Apply between 60 and 7 days before entry and check details carefully, since an issued e-visa cannot be changed. Carry proof of yellow fever vaccination, as immigration checks it on arrival.

Quick answers
FAQ
Do Pakistanis need a visa for Chad?
Yes. Pakistan is not on Chad’s visa-exempt list, so you need an e-visa from evisa.td before you travel.
Is evisa.td the only way to apply?
Yes for ordinary travellers. Since 11 May 2026 all new applications must go through the platform; only diplomatic and courtesy visas stay with the Foreign Ministry.
Is a visa issued by an embassy still valid?
Visas issued properly before the change remain valid until they expire. Any visa issued outside the platform after 21 May 2026 is treated as invalid.
Can I get an entry authorisation at the airport?
No. The immigration directorate says manual entry authorisations have been permanently withdrawn.
How much does the e-visa cost?
The price depends on the visa category under Joint Order No. 033 of 2026 and is displayed on the platform before you pay.
Can I get a refund?
No. The platform’s FAQ says payments are not refunded, so check every detail before you submit.
Which documents are needed?
A colour scan of your passport data page, a photo, flight tickets, accommodation proof, proof of funds and, where relevant, a legalised invitation letter.
Must an invitation be legalised?
Yes. An invitation from a private individual must carry a readable, valid notarial legalisation, and organisations must provide their administrative documents.
What file formats are accepted?
JPEG or PDF for photos and passport scans, and PDF for letters, tickets and official papers. All text, stamps and signatures must be readable.
How long does processing take?
Ten working days for a standard request and 72 hours for express, according to the June 2026 circular. Extra checks can extend this.
When should I apply?
At least 7 days before entry. The circular caps applications at 60 days before arrival, while the older FAQ mentions 90 days, so stay within 60.
Can I change my e-visa after it is issued?
No. Issuance is automated, so details cannot be amended. Review the form carefully before submitting.
Do I need a yellow fever vaccination?
Yes. Carry your vaccination proof, as immigration checks it on arrival.
What if my e-visa expires during my stay?
Contact the Directorate of Emigration and Immigration to extend it. Extensions are allowed only once, for 15-day and 30-day visas.
Why might my application be rejected?
Officers are told to reject files with unreadable, unsigned or unlegalised documents, or papers that do not match the type of host declared.
Will I be told why?
Yes. The circular says applicants are notified through the platform of the specific reason for a rejection or request for more documents.
Is there an official refusal rate for Pakistanis?
No. Chad does not publish visa refusal figures by nationality.
Who do I contact?
The e-Visa sub-directorate at contact@evisa.td or +235 68 00 11 45, Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 15:30.
Which countries are visa-exempt?
The platform lists Barbados, Benin, Bermuda, Burkina Faso, Congo, Dominica, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, the Cook Islands, Mali, Micronesia, Niger, Nigeria, the Central African Republic, Rwanda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Singapore, Suriname and Togo.
