Summary

Embassy visa required
Visa type
Belize entry visa (tourist visa) from a Belizean diplomatic or consular mission
Stay limit
Up to 30 days from entry; extension through a Visitor’s Permit Extension
Entries
Single entry (valid 6 months) or multiple entry (valid 12 months)

Belize’s Department of Immigration marks Pakistan “YES” in its visa-required table, so an ordinary Pakistani passport holder must hold a Belize entry visa before travel. There is one important shortcut: you are exempt from the entry visa for visits of up to 30 days if you hold a valid multiple-entry US visa or US permanent residence card, a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, or a valid multiple-entry Canadian visa or Canadian permanent residence card. Everyone else applies at the nearest Belizean diplomatic or consular mission, or at the Belmopan headquarters if a sponsor is already in Belize. Pakistanis pay the higher fee band: BZ$750 single entry, BZ$1,000 multiple entry.

Belize is the only English-speaking country in Central America, known for the Great Blue Hole, the second-longest barrier reef in the world and the Maya temples of Caracol and Xunantunich. For Pakistani passport holders it is a visa country, and the rules come from the Department of Immigration in Belmopan.

The department’s country table marks Pakistan “YES” under visa required. There is a valuable exception: a valid multiple-entry US visa, multiple-entry Schengen visa or multiple-entry Canadian visa, or a US or Canadian permanent residence card, lets you enter for up to 30 days without a Belize visa.

Without one of those, apply at the nearest Belizean diplomatic or consular mission. The file includes the signed application form, a passport valid more than six months, a flight itinerary, an employment letter from the last six months and six months of bank statements. Documents in other languages need an official translation.

Fees are set in Belize dollars and have applied since May 2020. Pakistan is grouped with India, Nepal, Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, paying BZ$750 for a single-entry visa valid six months, or BZ$1,000 for a multiple-entry visa valid twelve months. Most other nationals pay BZ$200.

A visa gives up to 30 days from the date of entry, and longer stays need a Visitor’s Permit Extension from an Immigration Office. Travellers sponsored by a Belizean relative or resident add a sworn letter of financial support, the sponsor’s ID, an invitation letter and proof of kinship.

Checklist

Document requirements

  • Completed Belize visa application form, with every section filled in and signed the same way as your passport
  • Pakistani passport valid for more than six months
  • Flight itinerary showing arrival in Belize and your return date (or onward departure if transiting)
  • Employment letter issued within the last six months, showing employer details, monthly salary and period of employment
  • Bank statements covering the last six months of transactions
  • If sponsored: letter of financial support signed before a Justice of the Peace with a BZ$1.50 Belize postage stamp, sponsor’s ID or immigration status, invitation letter, and proof of kinship where relevant
  • Originals and copies of all documents; anything not in English translated and signed by a proper authority
  • Visa fee: BZ$750 single entry or BZ$1,000 multiple entry

Pakistan sits in Belize’s special fee band with India, Nepal, Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, which pays BZ$750 rather than the BZ$200 charged to most other nationals. A valid multiple-entry US, Schengen or Canadian visa, or US or Canadian permanent residence, removes the need for a Belize visa for visits of up to 30 days.

Quick answers

FAQ

Do Pakistanis need a visa for Belize?

Yes. Belize’s official visa table lists Pakistan as visa required, unless you hold a valid multiple-entry US, Schengen or Canadian visa, or US or Canadian permanent residence, for a visit of up to 30 days.

Can I visit Belize with my US visa?

Yes, if it is a valid multiple-entry US visa. It exempts you from the Belize entry visa for visits not exceeding 30 days. A US permanent residence card works the same way.

Does a Schengen or Canadian visa also work?

Yes. A valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, or a valid multiple-entry Canadian visa or Canadian permanent residence card, gives the same 30-day exemption.

How much does a Belize visa cost for Pakistanis?

BZ$750 for a single-entry visa valid six months, and BZ$1,000 for a multiple-entry visa valid twelve months. Fees are in Belize dollars.

Where do I apply?

At your nearest Belizean diplomatic or consular mission if you live outside Belize. If you or your sponsor are already in Belize, the application goes only to the Belmopan headquarters office.

How long can I stay?

A Belize visa allows a stay of up to 30 days from the date of entry. Longer stays need a Visitor’s Permit Extension from an Immigration Office.

Which financial documents are needed?

An employment letter issued within the last six months and six months of bank statements, for you and for any sponsor.

What if a relative in Belize is sponsoring me?

Your sponsor provides a letter of financial support signed before a Justice of the Peace with a BZ$1.50 postage stamp, ID or proof of status, an invitation letter, and documents proving your relationship.

Do my documents need translating?

Yes. Anything not in English must be translated by a proper authority and signed. Submit originals together with copies.

Do I need a Belize visa just to transit?

You may. The department says travellers transiting Belize may require an entry visa, and the flight itinerary must show your arrival in Belize and your departure date to the country of destination. Check with the Belizean mission before booking a connection.

Is there an official visa approval rate for Pakistanis?

No. Belize does not publish an approval or refusal rate for Pakistani applicants.
