Belarus has two routes for Pakistani passport holders, and which one fits depends on the documents you already hold. Pakistan is one of the 76 countries whose citizens can enter Belarus without a visa for up to 30 days, but only through the airport checkpoints at Minsk National Airport, Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev and Vitebsk. Pakistan is also among the 12 countries that must meet an extra condition: a valid multiple-entry visa of an EU member state or the Schengen zone, with a stamp showing you have crossed its border, plus a ticket confirming departure from one of those airports within 30 days. The rule does not cover anyone flying in from Russia or flying on to Russia. Without that visa, a Pakistani visitor needs a Belarusian visa from an embassy or consulate, and the standard processing fee is 60 euro.

Belarus is one of the few countries near Europe where some Pakistani travellers can arrive without applying for anything in advance. A presidential decree lets citizens of 76 countries, Pakistan included, stay up to 30 days visa-free, as long as they enter and leave through Minsk National Airport or the airports at Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev or Vitebsk.

There is a catch that decides the whole trip. Pakistan is one of 12 countries flagged for an extra condition: you must already hold a valid multiple-entry visa of an EU member state or the Schengen zone, with a stamp proving you have crossed those borders, plus a ticket out of Belarus within 30 days. A fresh, unused Schengen visa does not meet this.

Route matters as well. The visa-free rule does not apply if you fly in from Russia or fly on to a Russian airport, because flights between the two countries have no border control. At the airport you also need a passport valid 90 days beyond departure, money worth 2 base rates per day (or 50 for a full 30 days) and medical insurance of at least 10,000 euros.

If you do not hold a used multiple-entry EU or Schengen visa, apply for a Belarusian visa at an embassy or consulate. The short-term C visa is valid for up to 90 days, and the Ministry sets the processing fee at 60 euro for any type of visa, with double for a 2-working-day service and free processing for children under 14.

Plan the stay itself too. Visa-free time cannot be extended past 30 days, and anyone staying longer than 10 working days must be registered, which hotels and hostels do automatically at check-in. Belarus does not publish an approval rate for Pakistani applicants, so leave enough time before you book flights.

Checklist

Document requirements

  • Ordinary Pakistani passport valid at least 90 days beyond the date you leave Belarus
  • For airport visa-free entry: a valid multiple-entry EU or Schengen visa with an entry stamp from one of those states
  • For airport visa-free entry: a ticket confirming departure from the same group of Belarusian airports within 30 days
  • Funds of at least 2 base rates per day of stay, or 50 base rates for a full 30 days, in Belarusian rubles or foreign currency
  • Medical insurance with cover of at least 10,000 euros, valid in Belarus for the whole stay
  • For a regular visa: the visa application form and the 60 euro processing fee

Pakistan is marked with an asterisk on the Belarusian list of countries eligible for 30-day visa-free entry through its airports. For Pakistani citizens this means a valid multiple-entry EU or Schengen visa, with a mark showing a crossing of those borders, and a return ticket from the listed airports within 30 days are compulsory. Without them, apply for a visa at a Belarusian diplomatic mission or consular office.

Quick answers

FAQ

Do Pakistanis need a visa for Belarus?

It depends. Pakistani citizens can enter visa-free for up to 30 days through Minsk National Airport and five other Belarusian airports, but only if they hold a valid multiple-entry EU or Schengen visa that has already been used, and a ticket out within 30 days. Everyone else needs a Belarusian visa.

Which airports allow visa-free entry?

Minsk National Airport, Airport Brest, Airport Gomel, Airport Grodno, Airport Mogilev and Airport Vitebsk. You must also leave Belarus through one of these checkpoints.

What extra condition applies to Pakistani travellers?

Pakistan is one of 12 countries, with Egypt, India, Iran and others, whose citizens must hold a valid multiple-entry visa of an EU member state or the Schengen zone with a stamp in the passport showing a crossing of those borders, and a ticket confirming departure within 30 days.

Can I fly to Belarus from Russia without a visa?

No. The airport visa-free order does not apply to people arriving by plane from Russia or flying on to Russian airports, because those flights are treated as internal and have no border control.

How long can I stay without a visa?

Up to 30 days, counted in calendar days with the arrival and departure dates both included. The visa-free stay cannot be extended beyond 30 days.

How much money and insurance do I need?

At least 2 base rates for each day of stay, or 50 base rates for a full 30 days, in Belarusian rubles or foreign currency, and medical insurance with cover of at least 10,000 euros for the whole stay.

How much is a Belarusian visa for Pakistanis?

The standard processing fee is 60 euro for all types of visa with any number of entries. Children under 14 are exempt, and processing within 2 working days costs double. Check the current fee with the embassy before you pay.

What types of Belarusian visa are there?

B is a transit visa valid for up to 2 days, C is a short-term visa valid for up to 90 days, and D is a long-term visa. Visas can be single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry.

Can Pakistanis use the Belarus e-visa?

The Ministry states that the e-visa is open to ordinary passport holders of 68 countries, naming the USA, Canada, the EU countries and others. Pakistan is not confirmed on that list, so plan on the airport rule or an embassy visa.

Do I need to register after arrival?

Yes, if you stay more than 10 working days. Hotels and hostels register guests on check-in; otherwise register with the citizenship and migration office or online at portal.gov.by.

Is there an official visa approval rate for Pakistanis?

No. Belarus does not publish an approval or refusal rate for Pakistani applicants.
