Summary
- Visa type
- Short-stay Caribbean visa (Kingdom of the Netherlands)
- Stay limit
- As stated on the visa, at most 180 consecutive days in any 365-day period
- Entries
- Single or multiple
Pakistan is not on the list of nationalities that may enter Aruba without a visa, so Pakistani passport holders need a short-stay Caribbean visa issued by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In Pakistan you lodge it in person at VFS Global in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore. A multiple-entry Schengen visa, a multiple-entry UK or Irish visa, or a US or Canadian residence permit removes the need for this visa; a US or Canadian visitor visa alone does not, because Pakistan is not in the table of nationalities that benefit from that rule.
Aruba sits just off the coast of Venezuela and draws visitors with the white sand of Eagle Beach, the cactus-studded hills of Arikok National Park, the pastel streets of Oranjestad and the steady trade winds loved by kitesurfers. For Pakistani passport holders, the trip starts with a visa application at home.
The island belongs to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Dutch missions handle its visas. Pakistan does not appear on the list of visa-exempt nationalities, so you apply for a short-stay Caribbean visa, lodged in person at VFS Global in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore.
There are useful shortcuts. A valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, a multiple-entry UK or Irish visa, or a residence permit for the Schengen area, the UK, Ireland, the US or Canada lets you fly to Aruba without a separate visa. A plain American or Canadian visitor visa does not help Pakistani nationals.
The fee listed for Pakistan is EUR 80, plus the VFS service charge. Bring a signed form, a passport under 10 years old, bank statements and payslips for three months, a hotel booking, a return reservation and medical insurance of at least US$15,000. Most decisions come within 15 calendar days.
Aruba sets the stay on your visa, up to 180 consecutive days within a year. The same visa opens Curaçao, Bonaire and St Maarten too, but it is not valid for the European Netherlands, and it does not allow paid work.

Quick answers
FAQ
Do Pakistanis need a visa for Aruba?
Yes. Pakistan is not on the visa-free list, so you need a short-stay Caribbean visa unless you hold a qualifying Schengen, UK, Irish, US or Canadian document.
Who issues the Aruba visa in Pakistan?
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You book an appointment with VFS Global in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore and hand in your file there in person.
What is the fee?
The Netherlands consular fee list for Pakistan shows EUR 80 for a Caribbean visa. VFS Global charges its own service fee on top.
Does my US visa let me into Aruba?
Not on its own. The US and Canada visa exemption covers only a short list of nationalities such as India and China. A Pakistani needs a US or Canadian residence permit to skip the Caribbean visa.
Does a Schengen visa work?
Yes, if it is a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa. A Schengen residence permit also works, as does a multiple-entry visa or residence permit for the UK or Ireland.
How long may I stay in Aruba?
Your visa shows the permitted length. Aruba allows at most 180 consecutive days within 365 days, but the period on your sticker may be shorter.
Can I visit Curaçao or Bonaire on the same visa?
Yes. A short-stay Caribbean visa is valid for Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St Eustatius and St Maarten, though each island has its own stay limit.
Is the visa valid for Amsterdam?
No. It does not cover the European Netherlands or any Schengen country, so a stopover in Europe needs separate permission.
How early should I apply?
Not more than 3 months before departure. Most decisions arrive within 15 calendar days, so lodging about a month ahead leaves room for queries.
How much insurance do I need?
Travel medical cover of at least US$15,000 that includes hospital care, emergency treatment, medicines and repatriation, valid on every island you visit.
Can I transit Aruba airport without a visa?
Yes, between 7:00 and 23:00, provided you hold an onward ticket and stay inside the international transit zone.
What if I arrive by cruise ship?
Cruise passengers need no visa when the ship stays no more than 24 hours in Aruba, a shorter limit than the 48 hours allowed elsewhere in the Dutch Caribbean.
Can I appeal a refusal?
For Aruba, the refusal letter explains how to lodge an objection. Read it carefully, as deadlines apply.
Can I work on this visa?
No. Paid work needs a separate work permit from the Aruban authorities.
I travel often. Is there a faster route?
The Caribbean Carpet Programme suits adults with ties on the islands who will visit more than once in 4 years. After the first in-person application, later ones can be lodged without attending, get priority and may be valid for 1 to 4 years.
Is there an official refusal rate for Pakistanis?
No. Neither Aruba nor the Netherlands publishes these figures.
