Pakistan is on the list of nationalities that need prior approval from the Director of Immigration before entering Solomon Islands as visitors, as published by the Permanent Mission of Solomon Islands to the United Nations. The Immigration Division now handles this through an online tourist visa: a three-month stay per entry, multiple entries, valid for one year, with the grant letter sent by email. Pakistan is not among the passports the Division lists as visa-exempt.

Solomon Islands stretches across almost a thousand islands in the South Pacific, with Second World War sites around Honiara, the Marovo Lagoon and some of the region’s best diving. Pakistani visitors must sort out their entry before flying.

The Permanent Mission of Solomon Islands to the United Nations lists Pakistan among the nationalities that need prior approval from the Director of Immigration before arriving as visitors. Pakistan is also absent from the visa-exempt passports listed by the Immigration Division.

In practice you apply online for a tourist visa. The Immigration Division lists a US$50 visa fee and a US$50 online lodgement fee. The visa allows three months on each entry, multiple entries, and stays valid for a year.

Upload your passport bio-data page, a cover letter addressed to the Director explaining your trip, your return or onward ticket, any hotel booking and evidence of funds. A passport with under six months’ validity can lead to refusal at the border.

Approval arrives as a grant letter by email, and you must carry a copy when you land. Work is not allowed, and extensions cost US$100 at the Immigration counter in Honiara.
