Pakistan is not on Antigua and Barbuda’s list of countries exempt from visas, and the Consulate General in New York names Pakistan among the Commonwealth countries whose citizens require a visa. The Immigration Department directs every applicant to its electronic visa process: you apply online, pay by card and receive an approval letter that is checked on arrival. If you already hold a valid US, Canadian, UK or Schengen visa or residence card, a 30-day tourist visa on arrival is possible for US$100.
Antigua and Barbuda, the twin-island state in the Leeward Islands, is known for its many beaches, English Harbour’s Nelson’s Dockyard and the pink sand of Barbuda. Pakistani passport holders need a visa, and the government’s main route is its online eVisa.
The Immigration Department publishes the list of countries that do not require a visa. Pakistan is absent from every section of it, and the department states that citizens of countries not on the list need one. The Consulate General in New York goes further and names Pakistan among Commonwealth countries that require a visa.
Applications go through the electronic visa process. You fill in the form online, pay by Visa or Mastercard and receive an approval or denial letter. Passport control verifies the eVisa on arrival, so keep a printout or a copy on your phone in case of system problems.
Pakistanis who already hold a valid US, Canadian, UK or Schengen visa or residence card have a second option: a single-entry tourist visa on arrival for up to 30 days, at US$100 per passenger. It is meant for holidays and family visits only and cannot normally be extended.
Whichever route you use, carry a passport valid six months, a return or onward ticket, accommodation confirmation and proof of funds. Morning-to-evening cruise visitors and same-day transit passengers who remain inside the airport do not need a visa.

Quick answers
FAQ
Do Pakistanis need a visa for Antigua and Barbuda?
Yes. Pakistan is not on the official visa-exempt list, and the Consulate General in New York names Pakistan among Commonwealth countries that require a visa.
How do I apply?
Through the Immigration Department’s electronic visa process. Fill in the online form, pay by card and wait for the approval letter, which passport control checks on arrival.
What is the eVisa?
An electronic acknowledgement permitting entry into Antigua and Barbuda, equivalent to a visa issued at a consulate or port of entry.
How much does it cost?
The eVisa fee is not stated on the department’s public pages, so check it on the official application before paying. The visa on arrival for qualifying travellers is US$100.
Can I get a visa on arrival?
Only if you hold a valid US, Canadian, UK or Schengen visa or residence card, are visiting purely as a tourist or to see friends or family, and meet the other conditions. It allows up to 30 days.
Can the visa on arrival be extended?
Normally no. It is non-extendable and non-convertible, except with the Chief Immigration Officer’s approval for medical reasons.
Do I need a visa for a cruise stop?
Not if you arrive in the morning and leave the same evening. The consulate says such cruise visitors do not need a visa.
What about a same-day transit?
No visa is needed if you travel on the same day, have proof of your onward journey and do not leave the controlled area of the airport.
Are multiple-entry visas available?
Yes. They may be issued for multiple entries over twelve or twenty-four months, at the discretion of the visa officer.
Can I be refused at the border even with an eVisa?
Yes. Immigration officials at the port of entry reserve the right to deny entry to an eVisa holder.
Which card types are accepted for the eVisa?
The Immigration Department mentions credit or debit cards, MasterCard or Visa, but the New York consulate’s eVisa link says payment is accepted by MasterCard only, so have a MasterCard ready to be safe.
Where is the Immigration Department?
At Long and Thames Streets, St. John’s, Antigua. Telephone +1 268 562 1387 or 562 1389.
Is there an official approval rate?
