Here are the UAE visit visa requirements for Bangladesh passport holders in plain terms. The guide covers who can apply for you, how the federal ICP route differs from the Dubai GDRFA route, the documents each one asks for, and how to check the fee before you pay. Unlike many countries, the UAE does not take tourist visa applications at its embassies. Your visa comes through an online government channel or a licensed sponsor.

First: who applies for a UAE visit visa?

The UAE government portal's tourist visa page lists these ways to get a tourist visa:

  • Online through ICP, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, for all emirates.
  • Online through GDRFA Dubai, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, for Dubai.
  • Through a UAE airline: Emirates, Etihad or flydubai. You must be flying with the airline you apply through.
  • Through a licensed UAE travel agent or hotel. You usually need a ticket or hotel booking with them.
  • Through a UAE resident relative or friend, where the sponsorship rules below allow it.

The same page says UAE embassies do not issue tourist visas. It also asks you to check that any agent is genuine; the UAE embassy can help you confirm this. If a Dhaka agent cannot tell you which licensed UAE company is sponsoring your visa, treat that as a warning sign.

General information from official UAE government pages. Not immigration advice. We do not issue entry permits or sell visas.

Do Bangladeshi citizens get a UAE visa on arrival?

The UAE portal's "Do you need a visa?" guidance says visa-on-arrival lists change, and it tells travellers to confirm their status with the UAE embassy before travelling. Plan on getting a visa in advance unless the official portal or embassy confirms otherwise for your passport.

Route A: ICP (federal, all emirates)

ICP's Issuance of a Visa service covers visit visas for relatives and friends of UAE residents, and tourist visas sponsored by tourism companies.

Key ICP conditions

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months, health insurance and a return ticket.
  • Enter the UAE within 60 days of the visa being issued.
  • Visit visas are issued for 30, 60 or 90 days. Total stay, including any extensions, is limited to 120 days.

If a UAE resident sponsors you

ICP sets a minimum monthly salary for the sponsor, depending on your relationship:

  • AED 4,000 for first-degree relatives
  • AED 8,000 for second- and third-degree relatives
  • AED 15,000 for friends

The sponsor also needs an active establishment or residence file and proof of kinship where relevant. ICP lists the expected completion time as 2 days.

If a tourism company sponsors you

The company applies for you. ICP lists your passport, a photo and the tour programme as the documents.

Where to apply: ICP's smart services website, the UAEICP app or a registered typing centre in the UAE.

Route B: GDRFA Dubai (visitors entering through Dubai)

GDRFA Dubai's single-entry tourist visa service is for visitors sponsored by a tourism establishment in Dubai.

Key GDRFA conditions

  • Stay periods of 30 or 60 days.
  • A personal photo and a passport copy. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
  • An onward or return ticket and UAE-valid medical insurance.
  • Expected completion: 48 hours.

The GDRFA page lists a national ID card only for a few specific nationalities, and Bangladesh is not one of them. Where to apply: the GDRFA Dubai website or the Dubai Now app, usually through your Dubai sponsor, airline or hotel.

Other visit options Bangladeshis ask about

  • Five-year multiple-entry tourist visa. The UAE portal lists a self-sponsored visa allowing up to 90 days per visit, extendable by a further 90 days. It requires a bank balance of USD 4,000, or its equivalent, over the last six months, UAE health insurance and proof of onward travel.
  • eVisa for GCC residents. If you live and work in a GCC country, the UAE portal describes an eVisa valid for 30 days with a 30-day stay, extendable once. It requires GCC residency valid for at least one year, a passport valid for at least six months, and a profession on the approved list.

Fees and approval rates

The fee depends on the visa type, duration and channel. ICP or GDRFA shows it on the service page, or your sponsor sees it at checkout, before you pay. Treat any figure on social media as out of date until you have confirmed it there. UAE authorities do not publish approval or refusal rates for Bangladeshi applicants.
